So when you start dreaming about Disney’s “Frozen” either it means you have a 7 year old daughter or Disney’s taking over the world (or both). This morning, while driving my daughter to school I remembered a flash of my dream last night. I don’t remember the context, but I was somehow performing Let It Go from “Frozen” in a group of people. All I remember is bursting out in song for the chorus and that my voice was strong and clear and it felt amazing!
Corporate-Cheese factor aside, Idina Menzel’s voice in that song is pure and powerful and that energy is what I wish for myself, my children, and everyone I know. To move forth in the world unapologetically who we are in our truest sense. To reject the forces that compel us to hide our strengths out of some fear of our own power. Here’s Elsa doing her thing:
Yes, in true Disney form she still has to transform into a hippy-sex-machine. But the fact is that my subconscious latched onto the power in a woman belting out a song about being herself and not holding back–and that’s what I’m sticking with!
